Mission Statement
Our mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs around the world by
providing them opportunities to foster meaningful social connections, engage in their
community, and develop their unique workplace skills.
About Us
As life-long special needs professionals, Boko and Saint saw that as their students grew, there
were almost no events for individuals with special needs outside of a school environment to
socialize on their own terms in a safe, inclusive environment. Recognizing this need, Boko and
Saint [HYPERLINK TO BIO PAGE] founded what would later be called Little Big Shoe in
[2020]. Little Big Shoe started hosting events like bowling nights, karaoke, trips to the
Houston Zoo Lights, and museum visits. These events were an instant success, allowing
individuals with special needs to feel included and even develop new friendships.
It was through these social events that founders Boko and Saint saw Little Big Shoe’s members
were eager to grow their friendships and cultivate skills they could use in a work environment.
To help empower these Little Big Shoe members to grow these workplace skills, Boko and Saint
worked individually with their members in local food trucks, commercial food preparation,
t-shirt production, and custom craft creations. These skills have become extremely valuable
for Little Big Shoe members and they continue to use these skills in the workplace.
But it’s not all business – at its core, Little Big Shoe’s culture is rooted in compassion, respect,
and empowerment. Through this culture, Little Big Shoe aims to create a safe, welcoming, and
inclusive environment to bridge the gap between individuals with disabilities and the broader
community. This means celebrating individuality and ensuring that everyone has the chance to be
part of a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community.
